GS1 standards create a common foundation for business by uniquely identifying, accurately capturing and automatically sharing vital information about products, locations and assets.
The GS1 Global Standards Management Process (GSMP) is the backbone of our work to develop and publish globally applicable, royalty-free (to the best of our ability) standards that meet the needs and requirements of our GS1 community.
GS1 and its community just ratified a new process to deliver best in class standards – benefits include:

The new Global Standards Management Process (GSMP) manual has been ratified and the new process is effective from 1 July 2015.
